A new product being released at Marinas 2011 International Conference and Trade Show, Melbourne, Australia - June 2011

PolyFender™ marine fenders are ideal to protect all marine vessels from damage that commonly occurs when the vessels are alongside wharves, marinas and piers. PolyFender will not scratch or mark boat hulls and is very slippery. Available in a wide range of curved and flat sections we can design a solution for virtually every application and solve the problem of boat damage when tied up.

PolyFender™ is a rigid thermoplastic polymer with extremely good resistance to chemicals (salt) and is weatherproof. Boat chemicals and acids will not affect it. It is unbreakable and will not split or splinter.  It has excellent UV resistance, is physiologically inert and non conductive (an electrical insulator with high dielectric resistance). It is highly abrasion resistant and can be worked, drilled, shaped, tapped, routed and cut on-site like softwood.

PolyFender™ offers a simple solution to a wide range of mooring and tie up problems. It is environmentally friendly being 100% recyclable. It doesn’t sink so will not be lost if dropped during installation.

PolyFender™ does not replace impact absorbing mooring aids such as inflatable fenders – which should still be used when approaching the wharf or marina to absorb and cushion any impact. However after the mooring operation is complete PolyFender will protect the vessel from any scratching and marks resulting from contact with timber, steel and concrete tie up structures. PolyFender will protect the vessel from glancing blows and the vessel can be “leant” against PolyFender as it is moved in or out of a mooring berth.

PolyFender™ is manufactured in Newcastle by Specialised Wholesale Pty Ltd - a Newcastle (NSW) Industrial Supply Company.
